We're back!!! Idaho brief

Ok - as usual, there are a million things happening at once in my life (is this normal - does this happen to you too?)

But - before any more time goes by and before any more things happen, I'm going to give a brief on our Idaho trip. We had some challenges at the beginning - Emma cried most of Saturday and Sunday. But eventually she got in the groove. She even became comfortable enough with Aunt Heidi and Uncle David to be naughty.

Here's are my personal highlights from the week:

- looong hikes and the thrill of being that person (and that couple) that takes 6-10 mile hikes like they're no big deal - just like we used to be. This was awesome because I was seriously beginning to think that person (and that part of our couple-hood) was dead.

- awesome grown up time with friends who also like hikes, yoga, massages, and yummy food.

- beautiful dry, crisp mountain air (much needed relief from Southern humidity)

- fall change of colors & beautiful mountain vistas at every turn.

- shopping (not that we did that much - we actually did very little, but it was one of those rare times when you find things that fit you perfectly at a do-able price every time you DO hit a shop)

- lots of laughs

- holding hands with my husband without it turning into a game of Red Rover & being able to finish our sentences with the Peanut gallery.

- Swimming in an alpine lake at the half way point of every hike - I am convinced that this and the yoga together make you impervious to post hike soreness and stiffness.

- doing Yoga with Randi on top of mountains (Bill's wife - Bill was our best man if you happened to be at our wedding)

- Kasey time!!!!!! The highlight was probably sitting in front of Redfish lake having coffee watching a storm overwhelm the mountains, and then late that same night having a Krispy Kreme doughnut and decaf Spanish espresso.

I'm sure there is more, but that's all I can think of for now. We don't have too many pictures, because Bill, who had just bought a Nikon D40 took most of them. We still have a sort of working sometimes digital point and shoot. So - as I upload our shots, and as Bill continues to email his, I'll post them.

Sounds like heaven to me! Idaho is just lovely, and autumn is the perfect time for travel and adventure.

My husband visited Hampton Cove last week, and was so impressed! "The most beautiful part of Huntsville" he says. He also visited Monte Sano State Park and Old Town/Five Points district.

He reports a great Mexican restaurant at the Bridge Street Mall, I can't remember the name of it.
