Last Saturday Emma and I went to the Calabasas Farmer's Market. We saw pomegranates, figs, persimmons, tomatoes and beautiful flowers.
But we didn't buy any.
Because my mother had just given us these from her yard:

We did pick up some lettuce, bread, eggs, green beans, grapes and a treat - the artichoke.

oh - yes - also a chocolate chip croissont from the French lady,
but that didn't make it home
ps - does anyone have recipe suggestions for the persimmons?
1 comment:
i recall a lady in my hometown who grew these, and made jellies and used them in baked desserts like one might use jelly or fruit compotes.
