Emma, making her 2 yr b-day cake & and speedily sneaking a lick
Two nights ago Emma helped me make corn muffins (from scratch). We were in a hurry, but things went relatively smoothly. As she mixed and and measured while I put away already used ingredients, it struck me how adept she has become and how helpful she can be. We had a dialogue about it:
Carol: Wow, Emma, you're getting to be such a big girl helping Mommy in the kitchen. You can actually help Mommy make the muffins faster sometimes. Thank you so much; that's such a good job for only being 3 and 1/2.
Emma: (pauses and looks up from mixing) I watch a lot of cooking shows.
