At our house Curious George is a beloved figure. He was, afterall, the first space monkey, and anything space related (especially from the 50's) is in our house. So, we have been enjoying the new "Curious George" cartoon on PBS while we eat breakfast. It's very age-appropriate and adorable.
Recently I had an epiphany:

Does anyone else notice the uncanny resemblance....?
Between Jay and "The Man With the Yellow Hat" (NOT THE MONKEY)!
If George is in, our former cartoon buddy, Bob the Builder is - OUT!
The first several episodes were cute - Bob builds a train studio for the building inspector, the scarecrow causes problems throughout town, the town has a fair and Bob builds the stage. Well, apparently Bob was not keeping up with the times (the times being very eco-conscious and political). The last few episodes we caught included Bob builds a yert, Bob builds a drying room for seaweed, Bob builds a playground out of re-cycled materials.
Now don't get me wrong - I recycle - I prefer to buy organic - I prefer to preserve rather than to trash the earth God created (even though it will eventually come to an end). But - I really don't care for politically motivated toddler's tv shows. Bob builds a YERT? Give me a break! To top it all off, Bob has been given a new voice with which he shares his new eco-friendly message.....and it sounds strikingly familiar...not unlike another popular builder we know.....

Yep - my boyfriend, Ty Pennington!
