We painted the family room light blue (we started before we learned we were moving), added new lamp and new throw pillows to couch.

Replaced the deck in the backyard

We went "hiking" with Shea and Jamie. Emma and Shea threw sticks and stones into the creek while the mommies had a nice hang out time.

We went to Malibu Country Mart and Malibu Creek State Beach with my sister Kristen our cousin Scott (who is also an engineer). (Scott got tar on his feet. He asked, "WHAT is this?" I said, "Tar - you're not going to want to touch that." He touched it anyway. Then he asked, "Where does it come from? How do you get it off?" Sometimes engineers aren't too smart. Aunt Kristen saved the day by using the old sunscreen oil to remove tar trick.)

We celebrated my mom's brithday

We took a spontaneous overnight beach camping trip to Carpinteria. Emma learned to make Doughboys (Thank you VonBlanck family for giving us your campsite!)

Helped my mom throw a post-memorial service reception for her childhood friend's father, who was one of my Grandpa's best and oldest friends.

Threw Emma a 4 yr old birthday party. Thanks, Aunt Kristen, for the AWESOME cake!

We went to Kansas to help clean out Papa's house for sale, and to move Papa into Sunrise Assisted Living.

We had a lovely Saturday of farmer's market, hike, lunch at Malibu Countrymart, walk to the beach.
Many more pictures will be in the gallery soon. I promise.
