Our Cup Runneth Over #2

Last Friday Emma, my mom and I had a persimmon day.


persimmon freezer jam
persimmon cookies
persimmon sorbet
next on the menu:
persimmon sour cream coffee cake
persimmon ice cream pie









If you notice (hard to do in the harsh afternoon shadowing)

the magazine has Hachiya Persimmons on the cover,

but for some (irritating) reason not one word about them inside







I think my mom's Dahlias are AMAZING!!!!!!

well I too, enjoyed some of these same persimmons that were sent to me in Atlanta. However, I was kind of in a vacuum to bake over here on my own. This partnered with my periodic bouts of stupidity resulted in the following:

My mom called and said "oh I was going to give you some tips on the puree step but I guess you figured it out since you are done, that all you have to do is just cut them open and scoop out the middle with the spoon." I said, "Oh, so you just don't put the whole thing in the blender?" hmmm....well my persimmon cookies have extra fiber. DELICIOUS

Your mom's Dahlias ARE stunning! Quite jealous. And your persimmons are a sight to behold - I'm delighted you've had such success with them. Oh, and I just wanted to say, you and I have the same box of salt. "BFF"!!
